Lim Ah Lee's SunflowerAh Lee, 64, is a resident of SILRA Home. He was a Dental Clerk and Signboard Painter with the Trafalgar Hospital, which was his former residence till its demolition in 1993. Ah Lee learnt to sketch for therapy whilst recovering from a feet amputation surgery.

Art has helped him cope with boredom and gave him vent for frustration. Now, Ah Lee uses "Art to build bridges for peace, harmony and better understanding of people from diverse cultures."

Ah Lee's work represented Singapore at the VSA International Sale and Auction in Washington DC, USA in 1995. Ah Lee was also one of the 13 VSA artists selected for the Maybank-VSA Pair With An Artist programme between 2000-2001, where he was mentored by Singapore artist, Low Kim Chit. His works were exhibited at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore) and Maybank Gallery (Malaysia) in May 2001.

Ah Lee hopes to use the computer to design greeting cards and he wishes that one day, he would be able to draw, paint and design using the Photoshop and Illustrator, both computer softwares.
