Each year VSA Singapore runs an Art Competition for Children and Youth with Special Needs.  For the 2008 competition, the theme is "I am Special".  This year's competition invites the participatns to draw inspiration from their own unique characteristics and through their artwork they will be able to tell everyone that "I am Special!".

Through this art competition, we wish to shine the spotlight on the artist and his unique abilities and interests.  We would like to celebrate the individuality in each person, to focus on their abilities and not at their disabilities.  We would like the artist to look carefully within themselves and search for the unique trait that makes them who they are, what makes them special.

The winning and commendable entries of this year's competition are exhibited at the "I am Special" Children Art Exhibition at Forum the Shopping Mall from 12th September 2008 to 21 September 2008, daily from 10.00am to 8.00pm

Besides the exhibition of the children paintings, children art workshops are also conducted daily in the mornings and in the afternoons.  There will also be paintings and handicrafts by other VSA artists on sale at the exhibition.
