VOICES is a programme that nurtures the artistic ability and talent of the persons with special needs and develops them into visual artists or craftsmen or performing artistes.
Our programme begins with confirmation of the talent and interest of the beneficiary. This is followed by enrolment into a class (i.e. Visual, Literary or Performing Art) for training and opportunity to develop skillsets further through art appreciation excursions and mentoring by a professional artist or artiste. To help gain confidence, the VOICES’ artist’s works will be exhibited or showcased at appropriate platforms.
The time spent in VOICES is with the objective of helping the talent to discover his “VOICE”, strengthen and allow it to be assessed by others.
As Ludwig van Beethoven said, “The barriers are not erected which can say to aspiring talents and industry, ‘Thus far and no farther.”
With VOICES, the world is their oyster.
“It was ability that mattered, not disability … ” Marlee Matlin
